เครื่อง AIS เป็นระบบสอบถามและกระจายข่าวด้วยเทคโนโลยี่พื้นฐานของ

SOTDMA – Self Organizing Time Division Multiple Access

ส่งกระจายสัญญาณภายใต้คลื่นวิทยุข่าย VHF Maritime Band ด้วยเทคโนโลยี่

นี้ทำให้มั่นใจได้ว่าข้อมูลถูกปรับปรุงอยู่เสมอ และมีมีขีดความสามารถในการส่งข้อมูลต่างๆ ของเรือได้จำนวนมาก

The AIS which operates in the VHF maritime band,

works as a shipboard broadcast system that acts like a transponder.

AIS is capable of handling more than 4,500 reports per minute and updates almost every two seconds.

AIS meet this high broadcast rate by using Self-Organizing

Time Division Multiple Access (SOTDMA) technology to ensure reliable

ship to ship and ship to shore operation.

The information is continually updated in near real-time and

received by all AIS-equipped ships and shore stations in its vicinity

exchange of navigation information between vessels and shore based vessel traffic centers

 What is the AIS Pilot Plug?/AIS Pilot Plug คืออะไร

AIS Pilot Plug (APP) คือ ปลั๊กช่องสัญญาณที่ต่อออกมาจากอุปกรณ์หรือที่ตัวเครื่อง

Automatic Identification System (AIS)เพื่อให้เจ้าพนักงานนำร่องหรือนักเดินเรือ

ใช้เชื่อมต่อสัญญาณไปใช้กับแผนที่อิเลคโทรนิคบนอุปกรณ์ต่างๆ

เช่น คอมพิวเตอร์, Smart Phone, iPad, iPhone

เพื่อให้แสดงข้อมูลของเรือเราและเรืออื่นๆ บนแผนที่อิเลคโทรนิคหรือโปรแกรมต่างๆ

ก็จะมีทั้งแบบ APP บนตัวเครื่อง AIS และแบบกล่อง APP แบบข้างนอกตัวเครื่อง

The AIS Pilot Plug provides the means to enable pilots

and other mariners to connect their own laptop PC

or other portable device to a vessel’s Automatic Identification System (AIS).

 

 What is the Portable Piloting Units (PPUs)?/ PPUs คืออะไร

Portable Piloting Units (PPUs) คือ อุปกรณ์ที่มาเป็นตัวกลางระหว่าง

APP กับ ECDIS/ECS มันใช้มาเสียบเข้ากับช่องสัญญาณ AIS Pilot plug

เพื่อให้เจ้าพนักงานนำร่องหรือนักเดินเรือ ใช้เชื่อมต่อสัญญาณไปใช้กับแผนที่อิเลคโทรนิคบนอุปกรณ์ต่างๆ

ก็สุดแล้วแต่ผู้ผลิตจะเรียก เช่น APP-Wireless, APP-Blutooth,

APP-USB บางครั้งก็เรียก AIS Pilot Plug ไปเลยก็มี ขอให้เข้าใจง่ายๆ

Portable Piloting Units (PPUs) are systems carried on board

ships by pilots to assist with navigation and docking

manoeuvres as vessels enter or leave port.

They provide a familiar interface for the pilot with

accurate and up to date information on the ship position, heading, course and speed.

 What types of information the from the AIS?

The AIS Pilot Plug is supposed to provide:

1.Dynamic data/ข้อมูลที่มีการเคลื่อนไหวเปลี่ยนแปลง:

Ship’s position with accuracy indication and integrity status

UTC

Course over ground (COG)

Speed over ground (SOG)

Heading

Navigation status (manual input)

Rate of turn--ROT (where available)

Update rates

Dependent on speed and course alternation.( 2– 3 min)

2.Static data/ข้อมูลสถิตหรือที่ไม่เปลี่ยนแปลง:

MMSI (Maritime Mobile Service Identity)

IMO number (Where available)

Call sign and Ship's name

Length and beam

Vessel Type

Location of position-fixing antenna on the ship(Update rate: 6 min.)
